Oh! look at me

Born nameless – died nameless

Born healthy - died crippled.

This dog was beaten to the point that its spinal cord was broken and fractured beyond repair. The lower abdomen and hind legs were paralyzed and lost all sensation.

(An animal lover rescued this dog and asked for Edhi’s intervention – I saw this dog at the Vet’s)

This dog was put to sleep.

This is no DOG-DRAMA . This is reality & the credit goes to no one other than us the glorious ”Humans”

For all those who dont care please go to the top right icon marked X and click - dont leave me comments that will waste your time and fail to deter me in the least! (could just reinforce though!)

Act of cruelty  be it on humans or on animals is a crime and a sin. Anyones indifference to either only makes him/her party to the act and their whole mindset and attitude towards life.

Do note that most rapists and murderers first try their hands on animals and then move on to humans.

Murder of innocence

CBC’s grand success of killing my pet dog with cruelty.  Slow poisoned and left to suffer on the street, while people kept screaming that this is a personal pet.  There were two dogs, and thankfully the other one survived the poison thanks to very hard work by the people and the doctor.  But Shankar, loved by everyone on the street, died because “man” wants to invoke the wrath of nature upon himself.  May his wish soon come true.  Shankar was wearing a collar which clearly showed that he was owned and a pet.

Corporates jump in to beautify DHA

Good to see major CSR activity.  Multi-billion dollar organizations have decided to join hands with political parties, and other small businesses to give the community a face-lift.  Major beautification efforts are underway.

Open manholes in front of schools

Why are we so oblivious of the risks that we put our children in?  Is it so difficult to force DHA administration to cover these holes at the very least in front of schools?

Comments: One of the finest restaurant ambiances in Karachi.  Lots of table capacity but booked out almost every night.  Best to call in and make reservations before hand.  Tends to get a bit noisy, but that’s not the restaurant’s fault.  Insensitivity is a cultural thing.  Good menu with ample choice.  Both indoor and outdoor seating.

Subway

A reasonably clean and well-equipped place for a quick bite.  I’m in love with their veggie subs.  Nice potato wedges too.

Corner of Shahbaz and Hafiz.

Cafe Aylanto

Not what it used to be but surely a place to keep on the list if you want decent food, with a very nice ambiance.  Perfect place for an afternoon meeting over coffee and light desert.  Much better coffee than most coffee shops like Espresso, etc.  Thank god Costa has gone down (so I’m told).  Their coffee was vile.

My Two By Two Citizen

Here’s another example of a MyTwoByTwo Citizen.  This is proof that if everyone took responsibility of the space they occupy on this earth, wherever they may be at any given moment, this world could turn into heaven within minutes.  Our kudos to this resident of DHA Karachi.

Life in the fast lane

The supposedly educated elite and the rich and famous have managed to buy fancy cars, but if you look at the mindset, there isn’t an iota of difference between a 10 million Rupee car and a donkey cart.  People say “education” will sort all problems. This image set is proof that education is NOT the problem in Pakistan.  All the hi-fi education hasn’t made these people any better than the illiterate ones.
